Job Description BCIS is a not-for-profit, independent, N-12 co-educational day school. BCIS is a dynamic, IB World School (PYP, MYP & DP) with a strong focus on inquiry, creativity and personalized learning to challenge and support all students. Functional Relationships: Director of Technology and IT Manager Reporting to the IT Manager, the BCIS IT Archivist will: Manage DataTransfer/input      historical Admin + parent, student and faculty information into      PowerSchoolTransfer/Input      historical ManageBac parent, student and faculty information into      PowerSchoolTransfer/Input      historical ShareFolder parent, student and faculty information into      PowerSchoolSupport the      Academic Principals and Admissions department in creating and maintaining      a Permanent Student Records plan Support the IT DepartmentSupport the IT Manager      in keeping accurate IT records Complete Payment      Requests/Contract Requests with follow up in collaboration with the IT      Manager and Finance DepartmentProvide Chinese /      English language support / translation as neededPerform other duties      which may be assigned by the IT Manager General Requisite Skills:Communication – Fluent in both      spoken and written Chinese and EnglishICT Skills – Word-processing, spreadsheets,      slide presentations, Photoshop, or equivalent applications, and database      management.  Mac skills an advantage      and must be willing to learn and develop a high ICT skill levelInterpersonal Skills – Polite and      professional at all times in dealings with Chinese and English speakers      within and beyond the school community in both oral and written forms of      communication, tone, manner and presentation, being a school      representative.Willingness to Learn and Acceptance of Responsibility – Preparedness to accept training and to seek assistance and      advice when necessary as well as an ability and interest in solving      problemsInitiative – realising      opportunities to improve the work space and activities and recommending      effective changes that benefit efficiencyPride in work – meeting deadlines      and completing high quality work in required formats, keeping workspace      clean and clear as well as keeping school information secureRespect for school – understanding      and acting in accordance with the BCIS mission and philosophy to best      serve students, parents and staff Staffing Philosophy and Goals BCIS will employ effective, efficient, experienced, enthusiastic and well-qualified staff who are committed not only to the philosophy and mission of the school, but also committed to personal, professional and school improvements. Specifically, BCIS will:Recruit, develop and support      the best qualified staff available Assign staff as effectively as      possible in order to achieve the school’s mission and goalsProvide an up-to-date job      description and handbook to assist staff in the fulfillment of their      dutiesConduct an appraisal programme      that encourages and supports teacher improvement and professional      development Creating a Positive Environment At BCIS it is our aim to create a positive school environment. SCHOOL PROFILE


Beijing City International School (BCIS) was opened in August 2005 to provide an international education for the expatriate community in Beijing and, uniquely, for the children of internationally-minded Chinese nationals. The vision of the founders sees BCIS as a bridge between East and West. BCIS is a private, not-for-profit, coeducational day school.


The school has purpose-built facilities specifically designed to provide a stimulating learning environment. The campus occupies a substantial site in the heart of the CBD and within one kilometre of the China World Trade Centre. In addition to our spacious classrooms (108 sq m), we have a large gymnasium, a 300-seat auditorium, a running track, 25-metre indoor heated swimming pool, cafeteria and food services, science laboratories, Information Technology facilities, and two libraries. The campus has a capacity of 1200 students.


Enrollment currently stands at 750 students. There are over 50 nationalities enrolled. The school has an open admissions policy for students who can benefit from its programme. Students must either be fluent in the English language or willing to develop fluency through the school’s ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) programme.


The school comprises of three sections: an Early Childhood Center (Toddler through Kindergarten) and an Elementary School (G1 through Grade 5) and an Secondary School (Grades 6 through 12), each of which is headed by a Principal who reports to the Head of School. There are approximately 100 teachers representing 13 nationalities.


BCIS is an IB World School. The school is authorized to teach the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). BCIS is a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS), and the International Schools Athletic Conference Beijing/Tianjin (ISAC). BCIS has been accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).


The new BCIS Early Childhood Center (ECC) is the first educational building in China to be LEED certified (to a Gold Level standard), making it fully green and environmentally friendly and is expected to be open in the summer of 2014.The building located in Shuangjing, near the East Third Ring Road in the heart of Beijing Commercial and Business District (CBD).The address is No. 11 Dongbai Street, Chaoyang District, Beijing.
