Founded in 1990, the Topocean Group has experienced 16 years of continuous growth serving the fast growing Asia trade. By the late 1990’s, Topocean had a well established network of offices and agents throughout Asia. By the turn of the century, Topocean was well positioned with own offices in many locations throughout China. As U.S. importers sourcing demands shifted from South China to the growing Yangtze River Delta region, so too did Topocean staff and capabilities. Topocean currently has a presence in every major port in China.
Topocean has been voted one of the leading NVOCC’s in Asia on a number of occasions by AFIA in Singapore during their annual award ceremonies. Though Topocean is not yet a household name, ocean carriers know Topocean well as the Group moves shipments on more than 15 carriers from Asia to the United States. As the NVOCC and forwarding industry has consolidated, Topocean has become one of the few companies that can focus on U.S. importer needs providing clients with a rare combination of competitive rate structures and focused customer follow up.
Topocean is not simply a large NVOCC. The demands of the U.S. inbound container volume growth has provided opportunities to develop logistics capabilities. Topocean offers warehousing and distribution services in Southern California operating more than 400,000 square feet of logistics facilities. In 2005, bending to the demand of our clients, Topocean expanded “Topland”, our domestic logistics company to include domestic transportation services.
Today Topocean has relationships with all of the large FTL and LTL trucking companies as we handle the domestic deliveries on behalf of our import clients. Southern California has become an important gateway for shipments originating in Asia. More companies are breaking their containers on the west coast and delivering them direct to their customers rather than send them to regional inland distribution centers.
